Back Exercises and Taking Care Of Your Body
Does your back bother
you? Lower back pain
starting to get you depressed? I know back pain can take you out
of commission. The
trick is to figure out what to do about it. If your doctor is telling you
nothing is wrong. And
if your physical therapist can’t help, what do you do?
Back
Exercises just might be your answer. But before you start any back
exercises you should make sure you know what part of the back you
want to exercise. You
have exercises for lower back, middle back, and upper
back. However, there
is something else you should be concerned with when you start to
exercise your back.
You don’t want to do more harm than good. And that’s your abs.
Before you start any back
exercise program you should seriously start an ab exercise
program. You abdominal
muscles need exercise too. In fact, your back pain might be
caused by weak abs. In
the beginning of any basic back exercise program, half the time
should be spend on your abs. If you don’t, you won’t get the
full benefit of your back exercises and you might give up, because
you are not getting results.
You can get basic back
exercises or advance back exercises and the same with you abdominal
exercises. But before
you start you should talk to your doctor to make sure you don’t
harm yourself more. If
your doctor tells you it’s ok, then you need to start
properly. The first
thing you should do, is research. Online or at your book
store. I like online
because it’s free. But
you might want to have a book to refer to.
After you know a little bit
about back exercises and abdominal exercises, you should decide on
the time of day your exercise program for your back and abs will
start. How many days a
week you should train. Most experts tell you,
every other day, is good. However there are people that
tell you everyday is ok, if you do it right.
Be sure to start at the basic
level and work to the advance. Most people quit exercise
programs because they go out and buy a workout video and it’s just
to hard to do what they are doing on your TV
screen. So,
please, start slow even if you are in good shape. It’s all about quality not
quantity.
Warm up before you start any
back or abdominal exercise program. Do a gentle warm up for five or
ten minutes. Then
start with your abdominals. For the first 3 or four days just
get the body back into exercise, in other words, don’t over do
it. A resource on
abdominals that I recommend is Bullet
Proof Abs. It
comes in a book or a video; it is very informative book and has
some great exercises for your abdominals.
Then move to your back
exercises. Take the
next day to rest and that will tell you if you worked to hard or to
easy. If your real
soar cut your back and abs exercise down by half. If you don’t feel anything add a
few more sets. It
really takes about 3 to 4 weeks to really get the hang of
exercising.
After you’re done with your
work out, you need to cool down. Do the same warm up in reverse
and that is a cool down but before that you should
stretch. Back pain can
also be caused by flexibility problem. If you are new to stretching we
here is a review we did on stretching and a program that meets our
standards. Stretching Review

Well we hope this will get
you started on your back exercise program and abdominal exercise
program. Just start
slow and work your way into any new back or ab exercises you might
want to try. The thing
is they may seem very easy, then the next day you can hardly
move. Not a very good
start to your exercise program. Below we have put a link to a
good resource if you are starting any workout
program.
